BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — How long do you spend riding the T every day? 10 minutes? 30 minutes? An hour?
Chances are, Heshan de Silva-Weeramuni has you beat.
On Tuesday, the Jamaica Plain man spent 13 hours, 10 minutes, and 10 seconds riding the rails, setting a record visiting all 146 MBTA stations in the fastest time. The journey began at 5:32 a.m. at Heath Street and ended at Nubian Square at 6:40 p.m.

While speaking to WBZ NewsRadio earlier this week, de Silva-Weeramuni recalled others previously attempting such a public transit odyssey.
"Other people share my sense of being bonkers and decided to do this themselves too," de Silva-Weeramuni said.
In 2021, one woman went to all the stops on the Red, Green, Blue, and Orange lines in a record time of 7 hours and 4 minutes.
However, de Silva-Weeramuni's attempt included the newer stops on the Green Line Extension, as well as the Silver Line stops; he emphasized that he was thus setting a new record, not breaking an existing one.
He also said his time would have been even faster if he had not run into shuttle bus service on the Red Line.
Despite spending so much time on the T to set his new record, the train traveler told WBZ NewsRadio he is not protective of it.
"Why I did it was A) I thought it would be fun, and B) I want other people to actually beat the record," de Silva-Weeramuni said.
