Jamaica Plain Resident Seriously Injured In Early Morning Fire

JAMAICA PLAIN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — One person is being treated for serious injuries after being rescued from a burning home in Jamaica Plain the day after Christmas.

According to the Boston Fire Department, firefighters responded to the two-alarm fire at a residential home on Union Avenue at around 4 a.m. Saturday.

The flames were knocked down quickly, and BPD said all companies started work on major overhauling and wetting down remaining hotspots.

"Detail companies will remain on scene for hot spots," BFD tweeted. "1 resident was taken from the building and transported by ⁦Boston EMS with life threatening injuries."

No firefighters were injured, and the damages from the fire are estimated at around $350,000.

BFD said it is still investigating the cause of the fire.
