BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Two ISIS militants are being charged in the U.S. with killing American hostages on camera in Syria in 2014, including journalist James Foley of New Hampshire.
His mother, Diane Foley, told WBZ NewsRadio she feels pleased that justice may soon be coming for her son.
"I'm just very grateful," she said, "It feels almost like a miracle to be honest... It's been six very long years trying to get a bit of justice."
The suspects are two former British citizens, known for organizing the abduction and killing of the four Western hostages in Syria between 2012 and 2015. They have been held in Iraq by the U.S. military, and will be prosecuted in federal court in Virginia, which Foley's mother said she hopes to be part of.
"I suspect because of Covid, they will be virtual proceedings," she said. "So I think we will have an opportunity virtually to participate, and I definitely will."
