BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Celtics forward Jaylen Brown is cutting ties with Kanye West's sports agency after the rapper's antisemitic comments.
"There are times when my voice and my position can't co-exist in spaces that don't correspond with my stance or my values," Brown said in a statement. As recently as Monday, the star forward had told the Boston Globe that while he disagreed with Ye's comments, he was committed to staying with the agency.
Brown said the past day made him able to "reflect and better understand" the ambiguity in his previous comments, saying he "will always continue to stand strongly against antisemitism, hate speech, misrepresentation, and oppressive rhetoric of any kind."
Brown was one of the first major stars to sign on with the agency in May. He joined Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle in dropping Donda Sports.
