FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Former Patriot J.C. Jackson has returned to the New England Patriots after a trade with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Jackson spent four years with the Patriots from 2018 to 2021, helping the team win the Super Bowl in 2018. The cornerback gave opposing quarterbacks nightmares with 25 interceptions, tying the record for most interceptions in a player’s first four seasons.

Jackson joined practice on Thursday, but Head Coach Bill Belichick is not sure if he will be on the active roster Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

“We’ll see how it goes,” said Belichick in a press conference Friday morning. “He got a few snaps yesterday, see how it goes today. We have a few moving parts here, so just got to figure it out here as we get to the end of the week.”

The Patriots have had a rough start to the season with several key players on defense suffering major injuries. Last weekend, the team lost star rookie cornerback Christian Gonzalez and pass rusher Matthew Judon.

The Patriots return to Foxborough on Sunday at 1:00 P.M. against the Saints.
