BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Singer Jimmy Buffet is taking an unplanned layover at a Boston hospital and postponing one of his shows. The 76-year-old told fans on Twitter that he had come to Boston three days ago for a check-up, but was staying for medical issues that "needed immediate attention."
Buffet said he had just returned from a trip to the Bahamas when he got the news.
"Growing old is not for sissies, I promise you," he said.
The "Margaritaville" singer promised he continue on to his Charleston, South Carolina show as soon as he was able.
"I also will promise you, that when I am well enough to perform, that is what I’ll be doing in the land of She-Crab soup," he said. He's honoring tickets for the concert when he's eventually able to make it back on stage.
