SAUGUS, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Wrestling superstar John Cena paid tribute to Saugus' Kowloon Restaurant at WWE WrestleMania 39 Saturday.
The West Newbury, Massachusetts native wrestled Austin Theory in the opening match at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California and wore a pair of limited edition Nike sneakers with the Kowloon logo painted on them.
The sneakers were created by local artist Sway of blueswaydshoes to raise money for local charities.
"Thank you @JohnCena for wearing our Kowloon Nike Sneakers at Wrestlemania 39 in LA!" the restaurant tweeted Saturday night.
First opened as The Mandarin House in 1950, the Kowloon has been a favorite eatery for professional wrestlers for decades.
