BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A Whitman man was arrested Sunday night after a 16-year-old girl told MBTA Transit Police he indecently assaulted her on a Silver Line bus.
Transit Police responded to South Station's Silver Line terminal around 9:45 p.m. The victim and several witnesses pointed out the alleged assailant, 52-year-old John Reed, who was still on the bus.
"As the officers were speaking with the victim Reed displayed his middle finger at her," the department wrote.
TPD said Reed was uncooperative and dropped his body to the floor when they arrested him.
Reed was taken to Transit Police headquarters, where officers reported that he smelled strongly of alcohol.
