AVON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — For over 25 years, a furniture super-store that sells couches and mattresses has helped kids find forever families— and a place to spend the holidays.
More than 590 foster kids have found adoptive families through Jordan Furniture's initiative and partnership with the state's Department of Children and Families. Elliott Tatelman, the recently retired president and face of Jordan's Furniture, posed for pictures with families and kids who have been through the adoption process at his annual event for new families that have adopted a child from state foster care this year.
"We work all year trying to get kids adopted and making matches, and we deal with a lot of tough situations. This is the success," Tatelman said.

Tatleman was on hand to welcome the new families into the Avon super-store, where they got a chance to celebrate on the skating rink, tube slide, and in the enchanted village. Maggie Desmarais, who has had over 150 foster kids, said the kids love to celebrate the start of their new life and to see Saint Nick.
"Our kids are so happy to have families, and they're so happy to be able to come to an event where they're excited because they see Santa," Desmarais said.
