BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman is expected to be sidelined for about three weeks due to a hand injury.
League sources reportedly confirmed Edelman's injury to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Field Yates.
"As training camp begins, this means plenty of reps for the Patriots’ young receivers, including first round pick N’Keal Harry, Phillip Dorsett, Braxton Berrios and free agent signees Maurice Harris and Dontrelle Inman," Yates tweeted.
Patriots rookies and veterans recovering from injuries reported to Patriots Training Camp Sunday. All expected players were accounted for, and the rest of the team will be there on Wednesday.
Some players opening camp on the active/PUP list: running back Sony Michel, wide receiver Demaryius Thomas, safety Nate Ebner, and defensive end Deatrich Wise.
One player who isn't on any list? Last year's first-round pick Isaiah Wynn. He's coming off an Achilles injury that sidelined him for the entire 2018 season. He's projected as the Pats' starting left tackle.
The first practice open to the public is Thursday at 9:15 a.m.; the first pre-season game is August 8.
