DEDHAM, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Judge Beverly Cannone granted the jury’s request to impound the juror list indefinitely in the Karen Read murder trial.

Some of the jurors came forward and said that they fear for their safety if their identities were to be revealed to the public after acquitting Karen Read of murder.

Judge Cannone granted their request, keeping the list of juror names private beyond the initial ten-day period.

Read was found not guilty of killing her Boston Police Officer boyfriend John O’Keefe in her second murder trial. She was only found guilty of her OUI charge and was sentenced to one year of probation.

The request does not prohibit other jurors from speaking publicly about their service.

Similar to the first trial, the list of jurors was also impounded over fear of retribution after that trial ended in a mistrial over a hung jury.
