BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Jury selection began Tuesday for the 2018 Hyde Park fatal stabbing case of 41- year-old Mackenson Henry.
Rudy Jean-Baptiste, 35, of Roslindale, who was charged with one count of murder for the death of Henry, was ordered to be held without bail since his arraignment in May 2018.
On the night of the incident, Boston Police said officers found a victim suffering from multiple stab wounds at La Familia Barber Shope in Hyde Park on May 26, 2018. He was transported to a nearby hospital but later died.
During the initial investigation, police learned that Henry was involved in a physical altercation with another man and said that “it doesn't appear to be a random act, the parties may have been known to each other.”
Jean-Baptiste claimed Henry assaulted him first while inside the La Familia Barber Shop more than seven years ago. That’s when he acted in self-defense, chased Henry and stabbed him to death.
The trial is being held in Suffolk Superior Court.
