LAWRENCE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Lawrence held their annual St. Patrick’s Day parade on Saturday. At the event, first responders — who assisted during September’s gas explosions — were honored.
“I think that we’re going to be doing that for a long time,” Lawrence Mayor Dan Rivera said. “Those days in September — in our darkest hours and our greatest needs — they were there first and foremost. Some of them as their houses burned, some of them as their families were uncertain about their safety. So, I think we owe them a great debt of gratitude and we’ll be doing it for a while. And we should do it. It’s what they’re owed.”
