Lawrence Public Swimming Pools Closed Due To Possible COVID-19 Exposure

LAWRENCE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation has closed two public swimming pools in Lawrence, due to possible exposure to COVID-19.

The DCR said Sunday that effective immediately, the Department will be closing the Geisler Memorial Swimming Pool, and the Lt. Col. Edward J. Higgins Swimming Pool, both in the city of Lawrence, "due to an individual at the facilit[ies] coming into close contact with someone who recently tested positive for COVID-19."

Currently, DCR said it is in the process of having both facilities deep cleaned and sanitized, and they will remain closed until further notice.
