Leominster School Custodian Arrested For Inappropriate Conduct With Student

LEOMINSTER, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — A custodian working for the Leominster School District is accused of inappropriate conduct with a student.

The custodian, Christopher A. Zayas, 32, is under arrest.

He's been charged with three counts of aggravated rape and three counts of indecent assault and battery on a person 14 or older.

Zayas appeared in Leominster District Court Tuesday through video conference where he pleaded not guilty.

Judge Christopher LoConto set Zayas’s bail at $5,000 and ordered him to stay away from and have no contact with the victim; have no unsupervised contact with children under 16; report in person to the probation department twice a week; and not leave Massachusetts without permission from the probation department.

In a statement, the superintendent of Leominster Schools says the custodian is no longer working for the district, calling the allegations "disturbing."

Zayas will appear in court on April 11.
