CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — College students across Cambridge are moving in Labor Day weekend, with Lesley University being one of those many.

Sept. 1 is move-in day for returning Lesley students, such as Jay, who sounded like he couldn't be more ready for the hecticness.

"It was really exciting, everyone else is moving in, the energy is just up there," Jay said. "It's a little hectic, but you know I think I feed off of it.”

Jay showed up a 6 a.m. to start moving in with his five roommates, and he said the key was keeping the chaos controlled.

"Me and my roommates, we're already here. We're getting it done very very organized," he said.

Another student moving in was Johanna, whose mom Jan was very grateful for the elevators and moving containers at the dorm.

"This one's better because of those big bins," Jan said. "The other one we to move everything up the steps one by one."

According to her, this was a massive step up from Johanna's residence hall last year, where they had to lug everything up the stairs and parking was tight.

Zachary and his mom Tonya unfortunately are in that very residence hall, so move-in day for them has been a little more difficult.

“So far, it’s a little frustrating because there’s lack of parking,” Tonya said.

She's staying optimistic though, especially since Zachary's happy to be back.

“He's good, he's happy to be back on campus, and I'm happy for him,” she said.
