MARSHFIELD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Marshfield Fairgrounds are going to be extra busy this coming weekend with the Levitate Music and Arts Festival.
Some of the artists on the bill this year include Stick Figure, Dispatch, Still Woozy, Thundercat, The Revivalists, and Lawrence.
Food trucks and bars will be scattered throughout the fairgrounds. There will also be large murals and sculptures from 15 artists all around the event, a kid’s zone for younger concert goers and a creators market consisting of 60 venders selling original crafts.
This is the twelfth iteration of the 2-day event. The founder of the festival, Dan Hassett, says they expect 15,000 people per day to be there.
He said that the festival is coming together right up to when the event itself begins.
“We started building the beginning of last week, and we’re on site now…everyone’s on site, it’s pretty wild over here,” Hassett said. “Whatever’s set up at noon on Saturday is what we’re rolling with.”

Hassett also talked about the amount of time and planning that goes into an event like this, especially when keeping it’s more local feel intact.
“It’s more of a community event and really for everyone,” he said. “It’s like running a 15,000-person restaurant for two days.”
The festival is being held on July 12 and 13. 1% of ticket sales are being donated to the Levitate Foundation, a music and arts charity connected with the festival.
