BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Although there won't be a parade to celebrate Pride this month, the LGBTQ+ flag has been raised over the State House in honor.
Athena Vaughn, a transgender activist, joined the flag raising event and called on politicians to do more.
"You have everyone that says 'we're for you, we're here to help you, we're here to fight for you, we're here to support you, we're here to advocate for you, but when it's time for the advocation, no one is anywhere to be found," Vaughn said. "Especially when it comes to Black and Brown trans folks."
She told the crowd to stop clapping and to 'do something.'
