BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) —  A local developer is bringing new business to an industrial section of Andrew Square.

The local development company Core Investments plans to massively redevelop Andrew Square, with retail, housing, and lab space all as part of the area's plans.

Part of the area serves as an event space called the Lot on Dot, and Core Investments is hosting events there throughout the year to engage with the local community.

“This place is going to be the next place in Boston, and we’re just getting a jump start on it,” said Jack Frieden, developer at Core Investments.

The attendees at this weekend’s country festival didn’t seem to mind the big changes that would be coming.

“I like to see changes, I drove all the way from Middleborough to come see it,” said John, who is originally from Dorchester.

Admission for all the events at the lot is free of charge, and the new expansion will be 21 acres total once complete.
