REVERE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — As an exceptionally hot weather week is underway, Revere Beach is becoming a popular spot for bay staters looking to cool off.
As temperatures reach close to triple digits during this heatwave, some beachgoers don’t mind the increase in crowds at the local beaches while others feel differently.
“Pretty good, I like it. [There’s] nothing wrong with that, nothing wrong,” said Glenn, a local resident.
“That’s why I’m here so early. I walk [the beach] and then I go home [to] avoid the crowd. I hate people obviously!” another resident joked.
Even after the worst of the heatwave passes, the crowds at Revere Beach are not expected to decrease as the International Sand Sculpting Festival is slated to kick off this weekend.

According to their website, the sand sculpting festival “gathers world-class sand sculptors who showcase their incredible talents to hundreds of thousands of visitors each year.”
