Lockdown At Randolph School Lifted Following Reports Of Nearby Gunfire

RANDOLPH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A lockdown at a middle school in Randolph, Mass. has been lifted after shots were fired outside of an apartment building Tuesday morning.

A shelter in place for the High Street and Chestnut Street area has also been lifted.

At about 7:30 A.M., police responded to reports of gunfire in front of Rosemont Square apartments on Chestnut Street. When police arrived, they located three individuals in the area they believed to be involved in the incident.

Police said one of those individuals was in possession of a firearm and placed in custody. No other suspects were located at the time and no one was injured.

Randolph Community Middle School was placed on lockdown “out of an abundance of caution,” according to police.

Police are still searching for the remaining suspect. The incident is still under investigation.
