SOMERVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Sunday's grand opening of a Somerville bookstore drew a long line of readers down Highland Avenue.

Owner Mila Hossain said on social media her Davis Square shop 'Narrative' almost completely sold out of its initial stock on Sunday. "I don't really hear of that happening at a bookshop," said one reader.

Hossain said her store focuses on telling stories by and about people of color.

And when she saw the long line on Sunday, she said she had a moment of panic. "Oh my God, there's no books! I have to get more books. What do I do?"

Looking ahead, Hossain said she’s hoping for regular programming like author talks as well as smaller creative gatherings.

And while Hossain said the books in her store tend to be about people of color, they are for everyone.
