LOWELL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — "I ain’t no snitch but I know where there’s a couple potholes hiding."
This is just one of the responses to the Lowell Police Department's social media post requesting assistance locating dirt bikes, mopeds, and scooters in the area.
Authorities are on the hunt for what they consider reckless operators and group operators of motorbikes. The BOLO — or be on the lookout — was issued by LPD on Wednesday, acknowledging the public safety risks created by the operators of ATVs, mini-bikes, and motorcycles.
While some are against the idea of helping the police locate "kids having fun," others fully support their mission to crack down the public nuisance.
"They drive up and down the street doing wheelies and cutting through traffic and crowds," said Megan, a Lowell resident. "Like through the traffic, like through the cars, I mean — It's absolutely so unsafe."
Despite the "snitches get stitches" vow that some commenters are upholding, LPD is urging residents to say something if they see something.
