Lowell Police Investigate Homicide Of 64-Year-Old Woman

LOWELL, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — On Monday, the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office released a statement that a homicide investigation is underway into the death of a 64-year-old woman that happened at her home on Loring Street.

Middlesex D.A. Marian Ryan says Lowell Police arrived to the victim's home for a report of an unresponsive female late Sunday night, where they found Linda Gilbert with apparent trauma.

Gilbert was later brought to Lowell General Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

On Monday, an autopsy determined Gilbert's death to be a homicide, with the cause being multiple stab wounds to her person.
