Lynn Promotes Good Health for Public Employees on Wellness Day

LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The city of Lynn is promoting good health for its public employees Tuesday.

Employee Wellness Day at Lynn City Hall lets the city's public employees know their health benefits and address overall wellness needs through different stations, including blood pressure screening, aromatherapy, and a well-balanced fitness program. The event runs from 1 to 5 p.m.

"We really value the team that we have in place, that are providing services to the city of Lynn, to our residents, and we want to be there for them," said Lynn Mayor Jared Nicholson.

Employees can even get a free 15-minute chair massage.

"It's preventative medicine, in my opinion," said masseuse Paul Whistler. "Lowering your stress level is going to affect your overall health and wellbeing, and hopefully keep you out of the hospital and emergency room down the road."
