WEYMOUTH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Police in Weymouth reunited two French Bulldogs with their owner after a suspect allegedly stole a car with the dogs in the back seat.

The suspect, 29-year-old Marcus Morse, was arrested on multiple charges including several counts on larceny, two counts of animal cruelty, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and two outstanding warrants.

According to Weymouth Police, officers responded to 701 Bridge Street on Friday afternoon regarding reports of a stolen motor vehicle. The victim said someone took off in her Nissan Frontier while she was picking up food inside with her two French bulldogs inside.

Detectives were able to locate the whereabouts of the stolen vehicle after someone in Brockton listed the car for sale online with a picture of the license plate.

Brockton Police responded to 124 Manley Street where they found the car and detained Morse. The two French bulldogs were also still inside the car.

Brockton Animal Control checked on the dogs and police were able to reunite them with their owners.

Morse is being held at Weymouth Police station, and his arraignment is scheduled on Monday at Quincy District Court.
