Man Arrested For Shooting On MBTA Bus

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Transit Police have arrested a suspect that was allegedly involved in a shooting on an MBTA bus on Monday.

Officers arrested and charged Ricardo Blake on Wednesday for allegedly shooting another passenger on an MBTA bus in Mattapan near the areas of Morton and Blue Hill Avenue. Blake has been charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, along with several firearms-related charges.

Transit Police initially responded to reports Monday morning of a person being shot onboard an MBTA bus. When they arrived they found a 30-year-old man suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Transit Police said they believe Blake and the victim were arguing prior to the incident.
