Man Charged In Connection With Fatal Car Crash In Lakeville, Mass.

LAKEVILLE, Mass (WBZ NewsRadio) — Lakeville Police reported that they charged a man in connection with the fatal car crash on Main Street Friday night.

73-year-old David Delorenzo is a Lakeville resident. He was arrested and charged with motor vehicle homicide, operating under the influence of liquor, operating under the influence of liquor causing serious bodily injury, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, speeding and marked lanes violation.

On Friday, Jan. 19, at around 5:30 p.m., police responded to a report of crash on Main Street near Elliot Farm. Officials said that they discovered a four-vehicle crash.

A passenger in one of the cars in the crash, 75-year-old Lakeville resident Richard Reed, was declared dead at the scene by police.

Delorenzo and two of the other drivers were taken to the hospital to treat their injuries. The other driver was treated at the scene, police said.

Delorenzo is being held on $10,000 cash bail over the weekend, and will be arraigned on Monday in Wareham District Court.
