SCITUATE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man accused of dumping a body outside of South Shore Hospital was arraigned in Hingham District Court on Tuesday.

Christopher Caron, 42, is charged with the murder of Declan Perry, 27, of Portland, Maine, according to the Plymouth County District Attorney's Office. He was ordered held without bail. Caron's next court hearing is scheduled for Sept. 29.

Authorities said that Caron turned himself in to Scituate Police on Saturday, one week after Perry's body was found wrapped in blankets in the back seat of a Honda Civic outside of the hospital in Weymouth.

Neighbors at the Driftway condo complex in Scituate contacted police to say they helped a man load a large, heavy blanket into a Honda Civic, according to the DA's Office. Authorities said Caron was staying at a home at the complex.

Caron and Perry allegedly met up to buy cocaine and fentanyl, according to CBS News Boston. Later, Caron alleged asked a woman he knew for Narcan saying that Perry had overdosed. The woman reportedly told investigators that when she went to Caron's condo, Perry was still alive but needed medical attention. Prosecutors said the woman claimed Caron refused to call for help fearing he would get in trouble.

An autopsy later determined that Perry died of strangulation, and not an overdose, according to CBS News Boston.
