CLINTON, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — On Sunday morning, the Clinton Police Department responded to a motor vehicle crash on Main St in town. Officers from the Clinton Police Department, along with firefighters from the Clinton Fire Department were immediately dispatched and responded to the scene.
The crash resulted in heavy damage to three houses, a telephone pole and a parked motor vehicle. The crash also caused electrical outages in the homes and a large gas leak.

Due to the gas leak and crash, the road was closed, and residents in the area were evacuated from their homes, and National Grid Gas and Electric were called and responded to the scene.
The operator of the vehicle was identified as a 22-year-old male who was assaultive and uncooperative with officers, he was taken into custody at the scene.
The operator of the vehicle will be charged with multiple violations, including speeding, unlicensed operation, operating under the influence, multiple counts of destruction of property, resisting arrest, and Assault & Battery on a police officer, which may incur additional charges.
