Man Struck, Killed By MBTA Commuter Rail Train In Newtonville

NEWTONVILLE, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A man in his 20s who authorities say was trespassing on the tracks was struck and killed by a Commuter Rail train Wednesday.

MBTA Transit Police said the man was struck around 5:15 p.m. near the Newtonville Commuter Rail station by an outbound Framingham Line train. He was pronounced dead of his injuries.

Transit Police are still investigating the cause, but said they've ruled out foul play.

There were major delays of up to two hours on the Fitchburg Line.
