METHUEN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Pies have been flying off the shelves at a popular orchard in Methuen, Mass.

Mann Orchards has been making residents their Thanksgiving pies for 68 years and this year has been no different. Owners Matt and Bill Fitzgerald said they have been churning out pies non-stop since Saturday morning.

“It’s 24 hours a day straight through Wednesday night to get this thing pulled off for Thanksgiving,” said Bill Fitzgerald.

They have already created thousands of pies, but the pies are being purchased as soon as they are brought out of the oven.

“I don’t want to say it’s like going to war, but if it is war, by gosh we’re winning the battle, that’s for sure,” said Bill Fitzgerald.

Even though it has been an intense amount of baking, they know their hard work will be enjoyed by every customer.

“Come Thursday, in the vicinity of 40,000 of these pies will be enjoyed,” said owner Matt Fitzgerald.
