Marblehead Mother Files Lawsuit Against Child's School

MARBLEHEAD, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The mother of a nine-year-old student at Glover Elementary School in Marblehead is suing the school district for allegedly repeatedly restraining her child on multiple occasions while the child was in class.  

The lawsuit, filed in Suffolk Superior Court accuses workers at the Glover Elementary School of allegedly “brutally and impermissibly” restraining the nine-year old who was enrolled at the school through the METCO program.

There was one instance where the child was allegedly trapped inside a gym mat that was used to “transport” him, according to the lawsuit.  

Lawyers say that the boy who was black, was mistreated by school officials on at least eleven instances which left him “alone and afraid”.  

The lawsuit was filed in Suffolk County Superior Court on Wednesday.
