MARLBOROUGH, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — Heading into the weekend, commuting MetroWest residents noted a thick cloud of smoke along I-95 northbound, something that stems from a multi-acre brush fire in Marlborough.
On Saturday, the Marlborough Fire Department worked to extinguish the fire on Concord Road, after over a dozen fire departments fought a fire at the same site for hours the night before. According to the Framingham Source, 7A Forestry Task Force was on the scene to assist, following the emergency call that came in at around 8 a.m.

The fire spanned approximately 40 acres, according to a spokesperson for the Marlborough Fire Department. MFD and assisting teams were still on the scene trying to contain the fire Saturday at around 4 p.m.
MFD said the teams will continue to work on diminishing the fire, and if the fire persists, will send teams there Sunday.
