BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — An effort is underway to get a poster made by Martin Richard, the youngest victim of the Boston Marathon bombings, onto a postage stamp.
The poster, which read "No More Hurting People. Peace" was written by the eight-year-old Dorchester boy, who died near the marathon finish line six years ago Monday along with Krystle Campbell and Lu Lingzi.
Now, a campaign is underway to get that poster made into a U.S. postage stamp. The goal of the campaign is to get five thousand signatures. More than 2,700 people have signed on since Monday.
"While every murder is reprehensible, what made the death of Martin Richard especially poignant was the message he left for the entire world: No More Hurting People. PEACE," the petition on Change.org reads. "World leaders can’t seem to get us to a world free of war and hateful people can’t seem to find resolution or peace without deadly violence against innocent others, but maybe Martin’s simple message will help get us one step closer."
