BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Staple of the punk rock scene, special mementos from the Ramones are now available for bidding on Boston-based RR Auction's website.

"Dee Dee Ramone's 1980's leather jacket that he wore for hundreds of hundreds of shows, a Joey Ramone worn jacket, a guitar played by Johnny Ramone, which just got a little bit of everything Ramones-related. The Ramones were the Johnny Appleseed's of punk rock," Executive Vice President of RR Auction Bobby Livingston tells WBZ's Carl Stevens.

"The Marvels of Modern Music" auction isn't tied down to one genre either, a slew of Beatles, Bob Dylan, and Rolling Stone memorabilia.

The online auction runs until June 22.

According to RR Auction, the Ramones were frequent visitors, taking interest in the organizations pieces for sale. A good chunk of the items come from Andrew Gore, a longtime friend of Johnny Ramone who asked him to sign and give him anything of his that he was going to throw away.

WBZ's Carl Stevens (@CarlWBZ) reports.
