LYNN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Mass Brewers Guild will celebrate Mass Beer Week this week, a series of events meant to highlight local craft breweries.

Mass Beer Week runs from now until March 12 and features 214 different breweries from all across the commonwealth. The goal of the event is to promote local breweries and spotlight beers brewed specifically in the state of Massachusetts, according to the Mass Brewers Guild.

Events for Mass Beer Week are either virtual or in-person and feature a wide range of activities such as beer tastings, trivia games, beer mug painting, and more.

One brewery featured in the Mass Beer Week festivities is Bent Water brewery in Lynn. WBZ's Brooke McCarthy spoke with Krista McConomy, the taproom manager at Bent Water, who said she was excited to have this week of events to welcome patrons back into the business.

"I feel like its really important this year because of COVID and now that we're coming out of it I think it's a really important experience," McConomy said. "It's a great way to get out there and celebrate the beer that's going on and to come together as a craft beer community."
