Mass. DPH Reports 172 Newly Confirmed Cases Of COVID-19

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Another 172 confirmed cases of coronavirus were reported by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health on Sunday, bringing the state's total number of confirmed cases to 105,629.

The DPH also reported another 27 probable cases, for a total of nearly 6,000 probable cases in the state.

There were another 15 deaths among confirmed cases today, upping the confirmed COVID-related death toll in Massachusetts to 8,110.

While the average age of COVID-19 patients in the Commonwealth is 51, the average age of death in COVID-19 cases is 82.

The U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention has confirmed more than 3.2 million cases and 134,000 deaths attributed to the virus so far.
