BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts has claimed the top spot in the US News and World Report's public high school rankings. Specifically, Massachusetts is the state with the highest proportion of schools in the top quarter of the publication's rankings.
Almost half (48%) of its public high schools appear in the top 25% of the report's rankings this year. The report also ranked schools in Massachusetts by college readiness, graduation rate, and a variety of other factors.
The best high school in Massachusetts in 2022 was the Boston Latin School, and was #26 in the country overall.

- Sturgis Charter Public School (Hyannis)

- John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science (Boston)

- Mystic Valley Regional Charter School (Malden)
- The Bromfield School (Harvard)
- Weston High School
- Hopkinton High School
- Westwood High School
- Belmont High School
- Pioneer Charter School of Science 2 (Saugus)
- Pioneer Charter School of Science (Everett)
- Excel Academy Charter School (Boston)
- Match Charter Public School (Boston)
- Acton-Boxborough Regional High School
- Hampden Charter School of Science (Chicopee)
- Medfield Senior High School
The best might school in the country was the Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria, Virginia.
