DORCHESTER, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) – Lottery enthusiasts will be able to get a lot more than just a scratch ticket during their next transaction this weekend.
The Massachusetts State Lottery said Friday that it is bringing free COVID-19 vaccination clinics to Mass Lottery retail locations in Lawrence, New Bedford and Springfield. The three locations will host the clinics between January 8 and 9.
“As the virus continues to spread, getting people vaccinated and boosted is critical in protecting ourselves and those around us,” said State Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg, chair of the Massachusetts State Lottery Commission. “The Lottery wants to make sure COVID vaccines are easily accessible to help support the health of everyone in our state.”
Executive Director of the Mass Lottery Michael Sweeney added, “Public health and safety continues to be a priority and we are proud to be able to activate available resources to implement this important effort for the Commonwealth.”
The Lawrence location will be located at the City Mart on Haverhill Street and the New Bedford location will be located at Richdale on Brock Avenue. Both centers will be open Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The Springfield location will be open during the same hours on Sunday. It will be located at the One Stop Mart on Boston Road.
