BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health says it will stop publishing the state's daily COVID-19 numbers, beginning on Monday. Instead, the state says the numbers will now be released every Thursday.
The state is seeing about a thousand cases a day on average, down from a spring peak of around 4,000 a day.
The DPH is removing information on contact tracing and clusters. The state also says it will no longer carry information on COVID in higher education, saying that's because of a decrease in surveillance testing in local colleges and universities.
The state switched from publishing COVID numbers from seven to five days a week a little over a year ago.
Vaccine data will now be published on Wednesdays.
