BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — With another 438 cases of COVID-19 confirmed Friday, the total number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Massachusetts has risen to 117,888.
According to the state Department of Public Health, in around six months there have been nearly 8,800 total deaths in the Commonwealth among confirmed cases of COVID-19.
This week, the state's seven-day weighted average rate of positive COVID-19 tests dipped to one percent, its lowest rate since testing began.
More than 111,000 people have been tested for COVID-19 antibodies in Massachusetts, and more than 1.6 million individuals have been administered molecular COVID-19 tests.
As the Johns Hopkins University Coronavirus Research Center reports, there have been around 6 million cases of coronavirus confirmed in the U.S., and more than 180,000 Americans have died of the virus so far.
