BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts has its first real chance at snow on Tuesday night and Wednesday. Most of the real accumulation will be confined to the western parts of the state, but some wintry flakes will likely reach to the 128 corridor.
The National Weather Service predicts between 2-3 inches of snow for Western Mass., with a steep drop-off west of Worcester. The 128 corridor north and west of the city could see some wet flakes, but nothing much that will stick before changing over to a raw, chilly rain Wednesday morning. Boston isn't expected to see any snow at all.
Higher elevations and ski resorts in Vermont could see up to 6 inches. The National Weather Service station in Caribou, Maine also received its first real snowfall of the year overnight — totaling 3.5 inches.
