Massachusetts Has Nearly 30,000 Coronavirus Cases

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — As of Wednesday afternoon, there are 29,918 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Massachusetts.

The Massachusetts Department of Public Health also reported an additional 151 deaths attributed to the virus, bringing the state's death toll to 1,108 since the first death less than a month ago. Nearly half of those deaths, 530, were reported in long-term care facilities.

There have been more than 132,000 coronavirus tests conducted throughout Massachusetts. Out of the nearly 30,000 positive tests in the state, approximately:

22 percent are in Middlesex County

20 percent are in Suffolk County

13 percent are in Essex County

10 percent are in Norfolk County

Plymouth County, Worcester County, Hampden County, and Bristol County each have under ten percent of the state's cases.
