Massachusetts Reports 28 Additional COVID-Related Deaths

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health has reported another 261 cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 109,143.

The state DPH also reported another 28 deaths attributed to the coronavirus in Massachusetts, for a total of 8,081 COVID-related deaths.

More than 63 percent of those deaths have been reported in the state's long-term care facilities.

nearly 24,000 of the state's confirmed cases have been reported in Middlesex County, nearly 20,000 cases are in Suffolk County, and more than 16,000 cases are in Essex County.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Center for Disease Control and Prevention had confirmed a total of more than 2.62 million cases and 127,000 COVID-related deaths across the nation since March.
