BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — On the heels of days devoted to spending — Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday — Tuesday was focused on giving.
Giving Tuesday is the day people are encouraged to support their communities by donating money and/or their time to charities and non-profits.
Danny from Boston said that he likes to focus his giving on the younger generation.
"For me, it's the things I have a connection to," he said. "So the student employees with me, and then they have causes that are important to them, so I just want to make sure that I help them out."
Vay focuses her giving on youth sports.
"There's kids that want to play sports that can't because they don't have the equipment that they need," she said. "Or their families don't have the money to get the stuff that they need."
Carlos from Revere said it can be tough giving back right now.
"The economy, inflation is getting kind of hard. So, I mean for the average person it's letting go of that $20, $30 extra is part of their livelihood," he said.
