Fourth Vaping-Related Death Reported In Massachusetts

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A fourth Massachusetts resident has died as a result of vaping-related lung injuries, the Department of Public Health said Wednesday.

The patient was a 70-year-old man from Middlesex County who reported vaping THC.

"Today’s news is a tragic reminder that we must remain vigilant about the dangers of vaping," Public Health Commissioner Monica Bharel said in a release. "There are resources available to help people quit and we encourage anyone to use these resources."

DPH said the man's case was one of 36 confirmed in the Commonwealth. There are 73 additional probable cases of vaping-related illness that were reported to the CDC from Massachusetts.
