BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Secretary of the Commonwealth William Galvin said he expects a 'reasonably good turnout' in Massachusetts on Super Tuesday.
16 states total and the U.S. territory of American Samoa are voting in presidential primaries Tuesday in what most political experts believe is the day the presidential race typically takes shape.
Former president Donald Trump remains the Republican frontrunner for the nomination to oppose President Biden, while former U.N. ambassador Nikki Haley is still in the race.
She has picked up some delegates along the way but has yet to win a state.
Meanwhile, in downtown Boston Tuesday morning, voting was on most people's minds.
And whether opting for early voting or going to a polling location Tuesday, voters all agreed how important it is to vote. " I hope that my kids understand that they need to vote, because life is different now, and the only way is to have a voice and an opinion," said one voter.
Another took a similar tact. "Voting is a right that we still have, and it's a right we should always have."
Massachusetts polls opened Tuesday at 7 a.m. closing at 8 p.m..
