BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Students at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in Boston had to be moved out of their dormitory Friday night at about 10:30 p.m. after a problem with the building's sprinkler system.

The Boston Fire Department was notified.

A MassArt spokesperson said students living at the Tree House Residence Hall on Huntington Ave. who needed accommodations were relocated into temporary housing while repairs are being made.

According to an emergency alert sent to students, the dorm's sprinkler system went offline due to a frozen pipe.

The school said the dorm is expected to be closed until Thursday.

About 200 students have been displaced by the issue.
