BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — A huge storm is taking aim at Massachusetts, with large amounts of snow expected in Western Mass on Thursday night and Friday. Wind and rain are set to pound Greater Boston.
A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for the Berkshires as well as the rest of Western Mass, west of the Connecticut River. The National Weather Service said some isolated spots could get up to a foot and a half of snow between Thursday night and the end of the storm on Friday night.
WBZ Accuweather Meteorologist Dean Devore is predicting one to three inches of snow north and west of Route 128, with higher amounts north and west of 495.
In the Boston metro area, little to no snow is expected, but serious wind and rain are in the mix. The NWS issued a Wind Advisory for the entire Massachusetts coast, with gusts of up to 50 mph expected. Some scattered power outages are possible.
